The, 29-31, 27-30, 30-27, 23-30, loss to No. 4-ranked National American came on the heels of a, 30-22, 30-21, 30-16, sweep of Olivet Nazarene, dropping the Lancers to 3-1 on the season.

"We had a good weekend figuring things out, now we know what work we need to do," said California Baptist head coach Ryan McGuyre. "We know in what areas we're ahead of the game and what where areas we're a little behind. Once we get our serving and passing improved, we're going to be tough to stop."
In Friday's pool play, setter Lauren Briley went down with an ankle injury and did not play in Saturday's matches. It is unknown how long the injuy will keep Briley sidelined. Transfer Caitlin Parker, already in the mix at setter, took over for Briley throughout the remainder of the tournament.
