Halverson Three-Peats for Top RMAC Academic Award

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Christie Halverson was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Athlete of the Year in all three years of eligibility on Monday. A total of eight California Baptist University swimmers/divers earned RMAC All-Academic distinction, with three notching first-team recognition and five more making the honor roll.
Halverson, a senior nursing major, secured the top academic honor for the Lancers all five years in the RMAC, with Mary Hanson earning it in 2014 and 2015. Halverson was joined on the first team by two RMAC Summit Award winners: Melody Coleman (aviation major) and Tessa Olson (psychology), who picked up the honor in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
Janae Jizmejian (health science), Andrea Laliena (psychology), Anna Peter (health science), Sofia Petrenko (business administration) and Savannah Uhlir (kinesiology) all made the honor roll for CBU.
First-team selections were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
