
Learfield Directors Cup Standings Finalized for 2022-2023 Athletic Season

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) finalized the official standings of the 2022-2023 LEARFIELD Directors Cup Rankings on Wednesday morning. California Baptist ended its first year of NCAA postseason eligibility ranked third among Western Athletic Conference members and in the top 130 of eligible Division I institutions.
The Lancers ended the Fall season with 97 points after impressive postseason performances from both the men's and women's cross-country programs and an NCAA tournament run by the men's soccer team. Women's track and field secured all 38.5 points in the Spring after an incredible season, highlighted by a second-place finish in the steeplechase from Greta Karinauskaite and Yasna Petrova's top-twenty finish in the women's 5K at the Track and Field National Championships. The Lancers finished the athletic year ranked 128th after four NCAA postseason appearances with full membership as a Division I institution.
Stanford captured its 26th LEARFIELD Directors Cup after making multiple postseason runs this year and earning three national titles. The SEC led all Division I conferences with eight institutions in the top-25, including Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Texas A&M. Seven WAC programs were eligible to compete in the LEARFIELD Directors Cup Rankings, with Grand Canyon leading the pack at 190.75 points after five Spring NCAA postseason appearances. Utah Valley posted 169.75 points after their phenomenal women's track season, and CBU slotted into third in the WAC with 135.50 points. Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Southern Utah, and New Mexico State followed, respectively.
The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. The 2023-24 Division I LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings will begin after the fall sports season is complete.
