NO. 3 BRUINS BOMBARD LANCERS
LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- Jon Miller made 9 saves, but he was only able to minimize the damage as No. 19 ranked California Baptist was overmatched, 21-3, against powerhouse UCLA Thursday afternoon.
After going down 5-0 in first 7 minutes of the opening quarter, the Lancers (6-3) struck back with a score of their own, on freshman Jason Bills' seventh goal of the season. California Baptist netted its other 2 goals in the third quarter from Chris Morgan and Charlie Weaver.
In its season-opening game, UCLA had a trio of goals from Grant Zider while 5 other Bruins scored twice. A 7-goal outburst in the second quarter put the Lancers down, 12-1.
Jon Miller made 9 saves to bring his season total to 70 in just 9 games.
