RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- No. 17-ranked California Baptist University used a second half comeback against Johns Hopkins to close out a clean sweep of the Princeton Tournament Saturday.

A day after toppling tournament host and No. 18-ranked Princeton, the Lancers took down Harvard 15-12 and closed out their east coast trip with an 11-6 win over Johns Hopkins.

“We faced some adversity today, but were able to hold strong and get the win,” said CBU Head Coach Rick Rowland. “Things don't always go exactly as planned, but today it worked out. It was good to see how the guys responded to some pressure.”

Austen Ramer stole the show for CBU stopping 18 shots against Johns Hopkins as the Lancers came back from a 4-1 first half deficit. Ramer also had three steals in the match and tallied 11 saves and five steals in Saturday's opener.

The Lancers outscored the Blue Jays 5-2 in the third quarter and 3-0 in the fourth to seal the victory. Chris Toy tallied four goals for CBU and Aaron Steiger and Alan Ogden each had two goals. The Lancers were perfect on six-on-five opportunities in the match.

“Ramer was off the charts for us today,” said Rowland. “He kept us in the match long enough for the offense to get going.”

In Saturday's early match against the Crimson, CBU jumped out to a quick 7-1 lead in the first quarter. Harvard would climb back into the match and close the gap to 11-10, but could not complete the comeback as the Lancers pulled away with a 4-1 run to end the match.

Brent Troutman and Ogden had three goals a piece in the match. CBU had six other players get on the score sheet against Harvard.

CBU improves to 6-1 on the season with the two wins. The Lancers will be back in action Friday at the Cal Lutheran Tournament.
