IRVINE, Calif. --- California Baptist University couldn't shake its losing ways Thursday, falling 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 28-26) to No. 2 (NAIA) Concordia.

The Lancers have now lost three matches in a row dating back to the team's last two on its Hawaiian road trip.

Concordia has yet to lose this season, improving its record to 22-0 with the win. CBU drops to 15-5 on the year with the loss.

The Lancers were dominated in the opening two sets, falling by a combined 23 points while hitting just .079 and .000. Concordia ripped 30 kills to CBU's 16 in the first two games.

CBU made a run at a comeback in the third game, but fell short giving up three straight points to suffer the loss.

The Lancers fought off match point with a three point run of their own, getting two big blocks from Malika O'Brien. The visitors couldn't seal the deal, however, after taking the 25-24 lead and Marino helped the Eagles storm back with two big kills.

CBU hit just .133 in the match and had no players record either double digit kills or digs.

Ingrid Carmona led the team with nine kills and Kaitlyn Edwards had nine digs.

CUI got a huge night out of Brooke Marino, who posted 14 kills and 10 digs while hitting .448. Maddy Ekis posted 11 kills for the Eagles.

CBU actually out-blocked the Eagles 12-6, as O'Brien led all players with nine total blocks.

The Lancers stay on the road, heading to Point Loma on Tuesday.
