POMONA, Calif. – California Baptist University had flashed its skill in invitationals, a pentathlon and relay-only event already, but for the first time in 2015-16 it had a chance to take on an opponent head-to-head in a road dual at Pomona-Pitzer Saturday.
 
With 13 wins, including a sweep of all four dives, the Lancers remained unbeaten in all such events with a 191-100 win over the Sagehens. Josh Hanson and Zachary Parry both won all four events they competed in.
 
Other multiple-champion Lancers were Alexis Ohmar with three wins; Andrew Denton, Robert Griffith and Bernardo Valentim with two each.
 
CBU got a fantastic start when its 400-yard medley relay team of Hanson, James Wilson, Chris Sands and Valentim set a new pool record by nearly six seconds, clocking in at three minutes, 28.76 seconds. Hanson kept it going with wins in the 100 back (51.45), 200 fly (1:54.50), 400 individual medley (4:04.07).  
 
Parry gave the Lancers a clean sweep of all four dives. He won the one-meter board with 254.40 points, the three-meter with 269.70 points, the mixed one- (442.43) and three-meter (455.55). Kendall Rummell took second on the one- (252.45), three- (265.13) and mixed three-meter dives (424.95).
 
Griffith started his day with a win and pool record in the 1650 free in 15:53.89, which was well under the provisional standard for the NCAA Division II Championships (16:08.61). He then won the 500 free in 4:49.15.
 
Ohmar also claimed a win in a pool-record time of 1:42.20 in the 200 free before following that with a win in the 100 free (47.87). He then swam the anchor leg on the victorious 200-free relay, along with Denton, Ashton Lowery and Bernardo Valentim, which touched in 1:26.59.  
 
Denton led a medal sweep in the 100 butterfly for the Lancers, finishing in 52.50, followed by Chris Sands (52.69) and Adrian Gutierez (54.38).
