OAKLAND — No. 4-ranked California Baptist University continued on its tear Thursday night, winning its 23^rd-straight game with an 83-66 victory over Holy Names.
 
The Lancers improve on their program-best unbeaten streak, moving to 26-2 overall, and remain undefeated in the PacWest at 17-0. CBU is one win away from clinching at least a share of the PacWest title, its third overall and second consecutive. Holy Names drops to 2-21 on the year, 2-15 in conference.
 
Kamille Diaz led CBU with 19 points (7-for-12), while Courtney Nelson was right behind her with 18 points (8-for-14). Tori Mitchell chipped in 17 points, missing just one shot (7-for-8). Cassidy Mihalko rounded out the quartet with 12 points (4-for-10) and three steals.

HNU managed to keep things close in the first quarter, down just four points, 24-20, after the first 10 minutes.

CBU got its first 10-point lead with just under three minutes before halftime as Diaz hit a free throw to put her team up 37-27. The Hawks cut the margin back down to single digits by draining a triple, but Diaz scored five-straight points to jump start a 9-0 run. Mihalko and Mitchell also got in on the scoring action, before CBU held a 46-33 margin at the break.

The Lancers kept looking for the moment of separation, but the Hawks fought hard to keep it from happening. 

It finally came in the final five minutes of the game as CBU threatened a 20-point lead off a deep three from Diaz, 78-60, before the Lancers closed out the remaining ticks to grab the 83-66 victory.
 
CBU has three games left in the regular season, looking to finish strong. The Lancers face Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., before taking on Concordia University of Irvine on the road next Thursday at 5:30 p.m. The regular-season comes to a close on Feb. 25 as CBU hosts Point Loma for a 5:00 p.m. tip.
