RIVERSIDE, Calif. – A record night from beyond the arc helped California Baptist blast through Mississippi Valley State, 107-71, at the CBU Events Center on Saturday night.
 
The Lancers shot 18-of-36 from three point range setting a new program record for makes. Prior to tonight's game, CBU was tied for 17th in the country among NCAA Division I schools averaging at least 28 three point attempts per game while shooting 35 percent or better for the season. The Lancers should move up on that list after this contest.  CBU sophomore Milan Acquaah entered tonight's contest leading the Western Athletic Conference in scoring with a 20.6 points per game average. He got off to a sizzling start shooting 5-of-5 from outside scoring 17 of the team's 32 points in the first 9:50 of the game. The Lancers led MVSU, 32-19, at that point.
 
The Lancers took a 57-37 lead to the locker room at halftime.
 
In the second half, CBU continued to shoot lights out expanding the lead to as many as 37 points. The Lancers shot a season-high 53.4 percent from the field for the game.
 
Five players posted double-digit scoring totals for the Lancers. Acquaah finished the night with a career-high 30 points along with five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Sophomore Mike Henn scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three assists. Juniors Bul Kuol and De'jon Davis each added 11 points. Junior Zach Pirog registered a career-high with 11 points along with five boards off of the bench.
 
The Lancers will host UC Irvine (7-2) on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
