RIVERSIDE – After completing their second-consecutive WAC sweep to open up league play California Baptist University women's basketball returns home for a two-game homestand against Chicago State on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 22-23). The Lancers have already taken down conference co-favorite Utah Valley and the WAC's newest member Tarleton State, winning those four games by an average of 17.8 points per game.
CBU's 12 wins while remaining unbeaten is matched only by top-ranked Louisville after former No. 1 Stanford fell in overtime last weekend to Colorado. The Lancers also have their 15-game active win streak still going. It is tied for the second-longest streak in the nation with NC State, behind inactive Princeton, which ended last season on a 22-game win streak.
California Baptist continues to climb the ranks of the College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 rankings, checking in at No. 16 last week after improving four sports week-over-week. Though not yet receiving votes in the AP Top-25 poll, the Lancers odds continue to improve as the winning continues, but also as the team's NET RPI remains in an upward trajectory -- currently ranked 79 out of 342 teams in Division I.
