TUCSON --- California Baptist University hit the road for the final time in the non-conference portion of the schedule, as the Lancers fell to No. 8/6 Arizona, 84-60.
It marked a first-time matchup between CBU and Arizona, as the top-ranked Wildcats entered the game at 10-0 – their best start since the 2014-15 season.
The Lancers came out swinging in the opening minutes, jumping out to a 7-0 lead after a pair of threes by Reed Nottage and a free throw by Dan Akin. The lead would grow to double digits at the 16:14 mark, as Ty Rowell hit the Lancers' fifth three of the game, 18-7.
CBU would hold onto that lead for the next seven minutes, as the Lancers went toe-to-toe with the nation's best offense in the first half. Arizona entered the game leading the nation with 91.7 points per game.
Rowell and Tre Armstrong led the Lancers on the night, as the duo added 11 points apiece. Nottage finished with 10 points, while Taran Armstrong added nine points, three rebounds, and three assists. Rowell is now 10 points away from scoring his 1,000th career point as a Lancer.
