OREM, UTAH - California Baptist University women's soccer traveled to the Beehive State for a Friday night tilt against Utah Valley, eventually dropping a wild 4-3 game to the Wolverines.

Noa Schumacher had a record night, making 16 saves, smashing the previous program record of 12 set by Carissa Christensen back October 2018.
The Lancers came out on fire and scored in just the fourth minute of action.
Lourdes Bosch netted her third goal in as many games to give CBU an early one-goal lead. She is now tied with teammate
Karley Weeks for the second-most consecutive games in program history with a goal.

Kaylee Hauck had a coming out party in Utah, scoring her first first goal on a screamer in the 25
th minute to give the Lancers a 2-0 lead going into halftime.
She followed that up with another incredible shot from outside the 18-yard box in the 53
rd minute to give CBU a 3-0 advantage.
The second half saw a reinvigorated Utah Valley squad capitalize on possession and charge back to claim victory from the visiting Lancers with four unanswered scores.
"This is certainly a disappointing result after how well we started the game. Our scouting report and game plan coming into the game was spot on," said CBU head coach
Kristen St. Clair. " I'm really proud of how we executed that game plan in the first half scoring two brilliant goals. We started the second half quickly adding a third goal which normally would be enough to get the result."
"Unfortunately, we got a little over confident and hit fatigue at the same time," added St. Clair. "Our execution after that was not as sharp as it needed to be which allowed our opponent back in the game."
The result changes CBU's record to 5-2-2 on the year and 2-1 in Western Athletic Conference play, while UVU improves to 6-2-3 overall and 2-0-1 in the WAC.
"We beat ourselves tonight and missed an important opportunity to get three points on the road," said St. Clair. "This is a tough but valuable lesson we learned tonight, and will take it into training this week as we begin preparing for the next game."
The Lancers now have the weekend off to regroup and prepare for their trip to Texas next week. They will take on Stephen F. Austin on October 7 at 5 p.m. Pacific and UTRGV on October 9 at noon Pacific.
