Five Lancers Score In Double Figures To Earn Season Sweep of UT Arlington

ARLINGTON – The Lancers never trailed in a dominant road win on Thursday night in Arlington, taking down the Lady Mavs of UT Arlington by the widest margin of the season, 83-65. CBU has now won five of its last six games and three straight conference games.

The Lancers now stand at 10-9 on the season and sit in third place in the Western Athletic Conference standings with a strong 6-2 record, owning a half-game advantage over Grand Canyon. They also stand just one game behind Saturday's opponent, Stephen F. Austin, making this road trip finale a must-watch game.

Thursday's triumph was led by an incredible stat line from Trinity San Antonio, who became just the second Lancer in the DI era to post a night of at least 20 points and five rebounds, assists, and steals. San Antonio dropped a game-high 21 points, 11 of which came in a fourth quarter where CBU outscored UTA 29-15 to seal the victory.

As good as San Antonio's individual effort was, this was one of the most complete games CBU has posted all season and the first in regulation, with five Lancers' in double figures. Dorcas Wu and Kinsley Barrington scored 19 of their combined 25 in the first half to get the Lancers off on the right foot. Grace Schmidt (17) and Nae Nae Calhoun (11) added the bulk of their efforts in the second half to balance the attack.

As a squad, the Lancers seem to have found their shot again, making nine or more three-pointers in four straight games after having reached that mark, or better, just twice before.

The Lancers and Lady Jacks will tip off on Saturday at 12 p.m. Pacific time. SFA is currently riding a five-game winning streak, having just defeated Sam Houston on their home court.
