RIVERSIDE - In the first iteration of the West Coast Conference water polo tournament, the California Baptist University Lancers will face Santa Clara in the opening round rubber match between these two squads. The Lancers earned the #4 seed in the tournament with a final WCC record of 3-3 in the first season of competition. Santa Clara closed out the conference schedule with a 2-4 record, good for the fifth seed. The winner of Friday's 2:00 p.m. match will face the host and top-seeded Pepperdine at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday the 18th.
CBU and Santa Clara split two regular season matchups, with the Broncos taking the first tilt 12-11 at the MPSF Invitational, while CBU took the WCC conference opener at home by a score of 15-14.
All games will be played at Pepperdine's Raleigh Runnels Memorial Pool, streamed live on ESPN+, and live-stated on FOSH. Details about all three days can be found on the WCC Tournament Central webpage.
