EDINBURG--- California Baptist returned to UTRGV Baseball Stadium for the second game of the opening series of WAC play, where they fell to the Vaqueros 7-0. The Lancers move 7-7 on the season and will have the chance to clinch the series on Sunday in the final game of the weekend.
Jake Skipworth tallied ten putouts at first base for the Lancers, including a double play.
Julian Alvarez led California Baptist offensively with two hits against the Vaquero's pitching staff.
The University of Texas Rio Grande took the lead out of the gates, collecting five runs in the first inning. The Vaqueros then added a single run in the second and fourth inning. CBU and UTRGV have a win apiece and will determine the series winner in the final game on Sunday at 10 a.m. in Edinburg.
