RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University men's basketball battled the Northern Colorado Bears on Wednesday night, ultimately falling to the visitors 79-68. CBU falls to 3-2 on the season, while the Bears improve to 4-2.

PLAY-BY-PLAY:
The offenses were going back and forth at one another in the early going, scoring a combined 35 points ahead of the second media timeout. Out of the break, Northern Colorado proceeded to go on a 16-0 run to steal momentum away from the Lancers and take a 32-19 lead with 4:53 remaining in the first half. Dominique Daniels Jr. would cut the deficit to ten with 1:06, remaining on an and-1 opportunity before the Bears scored in the waning seconds to take a 40-28 lead into halftime. The Bears shot a blistering 56% from the field in the first half compared to 30% for the Lancers, reflecting the halftime deficit for CBU.

CBU came out of the locker room with momentum as Daniels Jr. connected on a pair of field goals to cut the lead to just seven. The Bears would respond in haste with a 7-0 run of their own to snatch back the energy and would eventually open up its largest lead of the contest at 59-42. CBU would make another push at the Bears with a 16-6 run to cut the deficit down to nine with 1:53 remaining. Northern Colorado would hold off the late rally with a timely basket and some free throws to earn the 79-69 result.
STATISTICAL NOTABLES:
The combination of Daniels Jr. and Kendal Coleman accounted for over 50% of the points for the Lancers in this one, scoring 36 points on efficient 15-31 shooting. Aj Braun put together a solid evening in the post, scoring ten points on 75% shooting and hauling in six rebounds as well.
The Lancers continue to take care of the basketball at an exceptional rate, with just ten turnovers in this game and have yet to have more than that on the season. CBU came into the contest as the second-best team in the country in turnover rate behind Vanderbilt.
