SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA--- The California Baptist men's water polo team started their morning in La Mirada against the Biola Eagles before heading down to Orange County to face Concordia Irvine for a Thursday doubleheader. The Lancers returned home with a pair of wins under their belts, taking down Biola 18-8 and finishing off CUI 16-8. CBU improves to 6-6 on the season.
CBU 18 - BIOLA 8
The Lancers' first match of the day started well with a pair of goals right out of the gate courtesy of Bodhi Bowden and Toring Stanley. CBU was able to find the back of the net five times through the first quarter, but the Eagles were right on their tail with a trio of goals. After ending the first half ahead by just two, Kevin Rosa's squad kicked it into high gear and went on a 6-1 run during the third period.
With a seven-goal lead, the Lancers cruised to the end of the game and tallied five more goals to secure their first win of the day. Bowden showed out with four goals, while Trent De Leuuw finished his time in the goal with three saves after allowing just a trio of goals.

CBU 17 - CUI 8
Concordia Irvine came out strong during CBU's second match of the day and found the first goal of the game just 30 seconds in. After ending the first period tied 3-3, the second quarter was all CBU as the Lancers went on a 5-1 run for a six-goal lead heading into halftime. Wyatt Bugbee helped extend the Lancer's lead with a hat trick in the third period, and another pair of goals from two freshmen, Michael Abshier and Paulo Hernandez, secured the 18-7 win.
Bugbee ended his day in the pool with five goals on six shots, while two other Lancers picked up a pair of goals in Irvine. The Lancers will now turn their attention to tomorrow, where they will play #3 USC at 5 p.m.
