PHOENIX - California Baptist women's basketball dropped Saturday's matchup to conference front-runners Grand Canyon, 84-55. The result drops the Lancers Western Athletic Conference record to 5-4, while the Lopes remain perfect at 9-0.

In her second game back to action, guard Shawnee Nordstrom led the Lancers with 10 points. Emma Johansson added seven of her nine in the fourth quarter, while Grace Schmidt and Khloe Lemon each contributed eight points.

The home team got off to a hot start, opening the game with an 11-0 run. CBU would trail by a manageable amount at the halftime break, 39-27, but the Lopes would use a few big runs in the third and fourth quarters to run away with the result.

CBU is back home on Thursday night to host UT Arlington. Game time is set to start at 6:00 p.m. in the Fowler Events Center.
