Jordan Pingel joined the California Baptist University coaching staff in July 2021 after a season at Texas A&M and two years at the University of Dubuque. Pingel was previously a volunteer assistant at Texas A&M and graduate assistant coach at Dubuque.

In the 2022 Cross Country season, Pingel was a part of four team victories, including a perfect sweep at the WAC Championships. The Lancers also competed in their first-ever D1 West Regional (both men and women) and DI National Championships (women's team only) as they made the full transition to a full-fledged D1 program. 14 Lancers were named to the All-WAC team and the Lancers claimed another individual champion in Said Mechaal.

The Lancers put together a strong first season with Pingel on staff in 2021-22. In the fall, the men won the Western Athletic Conference title with a perfect, 15-point score and the women finished runner-up. Florian Le Pallec won the individual men's title for WAC Runner of the Year honors and Greta Karinauskaite took second for WAC Freshman of the Year distinction. In the spring, CBU produced four individual WAC champions at the conference meet. The team has produced a total of 30 All-WAC finishers (17 track, 13 cross country).

Pingel is a certified USATF level 2 endurance coach. At Dubuque, he worked with multiple event groups, including cross country, horizontal jumps and distance events.

Prior to coaching, Pingel ran on the Northern Iowa track and field team from 2014-18 and specialized in middle distance events. He was a two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference 800m runner. He graduated in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in exercise science. He earned his master's degree in sports management from Dubuque in May 2020.
