3/10/2015 5:07:00 PM | Men's Basketball
RIVERSIDE, Calif. — It was déjà vu Sunday night as No. 21-ranked California Baptist University found out its first draw in the NCAA Division II West Region Tournament, the same team it opened with last year: Chico State.
While the Wildcats may have taken the game last year, 77-71, the Lancers are looking for a different outcome in their second consecutive tournament appearance. The two teams tip off on Friday at noon in the Felix Event Center on the campus of host Azusa Pacific.
The winner moves on to the semifinal match at 5:00 p.m. against the winner of the Seattle Pacific and BYU-Hawaii contest. Monday marks the West Region championship game, slated for a 7:00 p.m. tip off, with the champion advancing to the Elite Eight in Evansville, Ind., on March 25.
ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT
For the first time ever, four PacWest schools earned a spot in the NCAA Division II West Region tournament, taking the top four seeds. No. 14 Azusa Pacific picked up the top seed to host the tournament, while BYU-Hawaii took the second seed. CBU picked up the No. 3 spot and Dixie State rounded out the top four at No. 4.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
