Another Move Up the Ladder

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – As the postseason draws closer, California Baptist University keeps moving up the NCAA Division II rankings.
The Lancers moved up in both polls on Tuesday, climbing one spot to seventh in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and going from ninth to sixth in the College Sports Information Directors of America polls.
CBU extended both of its winning streaks to 19 overall and 31-straight at home, with two wins over the past three days against Notre Dame de Namur (91-63) and Hawai'i-Hilo (81-55). It brought CBU's record to 22-2 and 13-0 in the PacWest with seven more regular-season games on the docket.
As a team, the Lancers are a top-10 team in the NCAA Division II in several categories. They rank second in assists (435) and rebounds (1,018), third in three-point field goals made (214), fourth in scoring offense (87.4), fifth in free-throw percentage (79.7) and assists per game (18.1), seventh in field-goal percentage (47) and ninth in three-point field goals per game (8.9). CBU is also 10th in scoring margin (19), 15th in assist-turnover ratio (1.19) and 22nd in steals (227).
Hawaii Pacific and BYU-Hawaii visit the Van Dyne Gym next on Thursday and Saturday at 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. CBU can greatly boost its chances at repeating in the PacWest with a win over the Sharks, who sit second in the conference right now at 13-3, 10-1 in conference.
