Diouf Named Defender of the Week

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Coming off an outstanding defensive performance at Dixie State on Saturday, No. 8-ranked California Baptist University's Kalidou Diouf was named the PacWest Defender of the Week, announced Monday.

Diouf recorded 18 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks in CBU's 70-59 road win at Dixie State. It was his seventh double-double and a career-high in blocks, as the Lancers won in St. George, Utah, for the first time (70-59) and stayed in a tie for first place in the PacWest with Hawai'i Pacific.

The junior center is 11^th in the PacWest in scoring (15.8 ppg), seventh in rebounding (7.1 rpg) and third in blocks (30). He currently ranks third in all of NCAA Division II in field-goal percentage (68.4).

CBU heads back up to the Bay Area for two games this week, Holy Names on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The Lancers close out the regular season at home on Feb. 25, hosting Point Loma for an 8:00 p.m. tip off.
