Jonathan Bengard was a part of the California Baptist baseball program for three seasons, amassing several major awards during his time as a Lancer. He was named PacWest Pitcher of the Year, NCCAA All-American, and received NCBWA All-West Region honorable mention during his final season. During his career, Jonathan held a 2.52 ERA with 24 wins across 31 games and pitched seven complete games. He totaled 183 strikeouts through 192.2 innings, holding a career .218 batting average against. Following his time at CBU, Jonathan was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 30th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft. He competed in the minor leagues for two and half years before being hired by the San Bernardino Sheriffs Department. After working there for seven years, he transferred to the Lathrop Police Department and was recently promoted to the rank of Corporal.
