A two-sport standout, Matt Berry (2001-03) collected 21 NAIA All-American honors, the second-highest total in men's swimming history. He garnered honors in eight individual events and 13 relay events and was also a four-time NAIA National Champion in the 200- and 400-freestyle in 2002 and the 200- and 500-freestyle in 2003. He was also a two-time NAIA National Relay Champion.
Berry also doubled in men's water polo, earning AWPCA All-American honorable mention in 2001. For two straight seasons, Berry led the team in both goals and assists and graduated with 161 goals, 134 assists and 50 multi-goal games in his career. He still ranks fifth in program history in assists. During his three seasons in the pool, the Lancers went 71-33, which included a school-record 26 wins and a national ranking of No. 14 in 2001.
