It's rare to have a two-way player come along, like Steve Goins did for California Baptist University Baseball. The second baseman and starting pitcher ranks highly in many different categories in the program's record books. On the mound, Goins' 295 strikeouts still rank him first, while his 26 wins, 10 complete games and 300.2 innings pitched are second all time. His 59 appearances are eighth overall.

At the plate, he ranks second with 62 doubles, fourth with 272 hits, fifth in at-bats (769) and 374 total bases and 11th in runs batted in (137). With all those impressive numbers, Goins reaped plenty of awards, including four All-Golden State Athletic Conference awards, a Gold Glove from the conference and two All-Region/District accolades. Like many of these Hall of Famers, Goins was a two-time Scholar Athlete in the GSAC and NAIA.
