SUNBIRDS SWAMP LANCERS IN QUICK SWEEP

The loss snaps the Lancers' 10-match winning streak and is their first loss since a 3-0 loss to the Sunbirds on Sept. 24 in Riverside. They drop to 23-3 overall, 15-2 GSAC. Fresno Pacific, meanwhile, improves to 26-0, 16-0 and jumps into the driver's seat for the 2005 GSAC crown.
This one was all Sunbirds as they turned a 16-7 opening-game lead into a 25-7 lead with 9 straight points. The Sunbirds actually had game-point at 29-11 before the Lancers scored 5 straight points.
The Sunbirds hit .416 for the match and held the Lancers to a season-low .012.
Fresno Pacific trailed just twice the entire match when the Lancers took a short-lived 5-4 lead in game 2 and then scored the first point of game 3. In the second game, the Sunbirds led 13-10 before out-scoring the Lancers, 8-1, to blow the game open.
They led 10-7 and then again at 15-10 before scoring 9 of the next 10 points to assume control and cruise in for the win.
Verania Willis finished with 11 kills and 6 digs to lead the Lancers. Yudelka Bonilla added 6 kills and 3 digs.
