LATE GOALS POWER LANCERS
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- Although No. 20 Brown kept pace with California Baptist throughout the first 3 quarters, the No. 19 Lancers stepped up and scored 6 points in their 17-10 victory at the East Meets West Tournament.
Ryan Steiger continued his breakout season with 5 goals in the win, while Josh Harris netted 5 of his own for the Lancers, who also beat La Verne, 11-6, to improve to 8-3 on the year.
Steiger paced the Lancers with 4 goals throughout the opening 3 periods, but Gerrit Adams notched a trio of goals himself as the Bears trailed just 11-9 heading into the closing period.
Harris opened up the fourth quarter with a pair of goals in the first 2 minutes, and Jon Miller held Brown to just one goal in the final quarter for the win.
In the nightcap, Miller made 10 saves and held La Verne to a goal apiece in the second and fourth quarters. Steiger racked up 3 goals while Harris and Ogden each added a pair in the, 11-6, win.
