DAVIS, Calif. --- In the first of a three game road trip, California Baptist University dropped a 16-8 loss at No. 13 UC Davis on Friday.
Tania Acavedo and Kim Latschaw, who each notched two goals apiece, led the Lancers in goals.
Davis jumped to a 2-0 lead early before Doris Tran found the back of the net with 56 seconds left in the first quarter. With back-to-back goals from Acavedo, including a score on a 6-on-5 opportunity, CBU tied the game at 3-3 with 4:10 left in the half.
Latschaw scored with 1:02 remaining but Davis used a drawn penalty and two late goals before time expired to jump to a 7-4 lead at halftime.
Christina Webb scored on another CBU 6-on-5 advantage at 4:21, but the Aggies answered with a 5-1 run, disrupted only by a goal from Alyssa Birch, to extend their lead to 13-6 one minute into the fourth quarter.
Nicole Berry scored at 6:40 and Latschaw tallied her second at 1:32 for CBU's final two scores of the game.
Goalkeeper Camryn Rogers added six more saves, bringing her season total to 65.
Now at 4-7, CBU travels to Santa Clara to face Cal State Monterey Bay at noon and Santa Clara at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
