KAZAN, Russia --- California Baptist University Junior Laura Kocsis just completed an impressive run at the 2013 Summer Universiade (World University Games), helping to lead her native Hungary to a silver medal.
It was the second straight silver medal at the games for Hungary as Kocsis helped the team to a 4-1-1 record at the games.
Hungary got wins against both the United States and Australia as well as a tie with France in the preliminary group stage, before making its run to the finals. Team Hungary defeated Japan 16-5 in the quarterfinals and then Canada 7-6 in the semis, before falling to host Russia, 18-11, in the finals.
Playing nearly 15 minutes per game, including a tournament high 21:07 against Russia in the gold medal game, Kocsis scored a pair of goals in the tournament.
