LOS ANGELES – With each week that passes, California Baptist University's Bre Schlenger inches closer and closer to her NCAA Division II automatic mark. The junior continued to do so against some of the best competition in the country at the USC Dive Invite Friday afternoon.
Schlenger took 18th on the three-meter dive in a primarily Division I event, which included national powers like UCLA, USC, Michigan, Louisville and San Jose State. She posted 386.50 points in the event, which puts her not far off the 420 mark required to automatically qualify for the NCAAs.
The USC Dive Invite continues Saturday for CBU. The swim team will also be in action with a dual scheduled at Pomona-Pitzer for 2 p.m.
