ST. GEORGE, Utah — No. 5 California Baptist University seems to be on a whole other level of late.
Â
The Lancers grabbed their 14th-straight win with a 93-64 result over Dixie State Saturday night to improve to 21-1 overall, 13-1 in the PacWest,Â
and secure a spot in the conference championship tournament Saturday night. The Red Storm fall to 4-15, 4-9 in conference.
Â
Cassidy Mihalko led the Lancers with 21 points (10-for-13).

Erin Asher finished the night with 14 points on 6-for-10 shooting, while
Courtney Nelson chipped in 13 points (5-for-10).
Â
CBU opened on a 6-0 run and never looked back. Asher got things going on a fast break layup and Diaz followed with a jump shot. Mihalko capped the run by driving to the basket before the Red Storm could stop the scoring spurt.
Â
Three minutes before the first quarter ended, CBU had grabbed its first double-digit lead, 18-7. Mihalko sank a three to give the Lancers the 11-point lead and jump start her team on a 13-1 run to close out the quarter. It gave CBU a 28-8 cushion after the first 10 minutes of action.
Â
The Lancers kept it going in the second, scoring the first four points of the next 10 minutes.
Megan Frerer hit two free throws and
Darsha Burnside posted up under the basket to extend the run to 17-1, carried over from the first quarter.
Â
Once again, CBU grabbed some distance in the last three minutes of the period. Asher drove to the basket to put the Lancers up by 31. She would score the last points of the half, driving to the basket to put CBU in front 58-25 at halftime.
Â
Halfway through the third, Mihalko put CBU right on the edge of a 40-point lead at 67-28.

Â
Dixie State managed to chip away at the margin, cutting it back down on the lower side of 30 at 73-40 to end the third.
Â
Despite DSU trying to contain the Lancers and even bringing the margin under 30 points, CBU kept going. Nelson bookended a 6-0 run with two layups, while Diaz scored the middle basket to make it 81-46 with seven minutes to play.
Â
The Red Storm still had some fight left in them, dropping the upper hand down to 28 points, 87-59, but CBU would build back its 30-point lead once more. Meriggioli hit two free throws to make it 93-63, but it was the last time the Lancers would score as they closed out the 93-64 win.
