RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- Even without its leading scorer, No. 7-ranked California Baptist University erupted for a historic night and had a whopping six players score in double figures, as the Lancers defeated BYU-Hawaii 107-75 on Saturday night.
 
CBU matched its program winning-streak record by winning its 21^st-consecutive game – a feat the Lancers first accomplished last year. It also increased their home streak to 32-straight wins in the Van Dyne Gym. If that wasn't enough, the Lancers set another record by making 16 three-pointers in a game.
 
The win extends CBU's lead in the PacWest, as it improves to 24-2, 15-0 in the conference. The Seasiders drop to 8-11 overall and 5-8 in the conference standings.
 
Senior Kamille Diaz led the Lancers with 25 points, five assists and five rebounds, while true freshman Lexy Ram tied her career high with 21 points, which came on the night of her first career start. Ram was quick to push the praise on her career night.
 
"Definitely, I'd say teamwork, we all moved the ball well," Ram said of the key to the game. "We tried to look for our shooters and we were able to get going."
 
Courtney Nelson and Erin Asher (seven assists) both chipped in 12 points, while Kristine Sellona was one point away from matching her career-high with 11 points. Olivia Weber finished with 10 points and nine rebounds.   
 
"We have a really good team, we're very deep. I was just really proud of how we played as a team," Coach Jarrod Olson said. "It's pretty fun when the ball is going in like that, we try to shoot a lot of threes, but we just kind of take what the defense is giving us." 
 
BYU-Hawaii was able to take an early 5-0 lead in the game, but the Lancers rallied and ended the first quarter on a 33-13 run of their own. Diaz and Ram sparked their team early, as they combined for 21 first-quarter points.
 
The Seasiders tried to rally back in the third quarter, as they cut their deficit down to 16 points, 63-49. The Lancers then countered with three threes in a row, two by Diaz and one by Emma Meriggioli, to push the lead back to 25, 78-53, with 4:20 to go in the quarter.
 
"We really played well on offense tonight, the ball was really moving," said Olson, whose team assisted on 26 of 39 field goals. "We had a lot of good looks and we were able to knock them down, I was pretty happy for the kids."
 
CBU will now get ready for a four-game road trip that starts at Dixie State next Saturday at 4 p.m. Pacific time and ends at Concordia on Feb. 23^rd. The Lancers have one final home game in the Van Dyne Gym on Feb. 25^th against Point Loma at 5 p.m.
