CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For the fourth year in a row, California Baptist University had a runner competing in the 3K steeplechase finals at the NCAA Division II Track Championship Meet.
Friday evening, Pierre-Louis Detourbe ran his fastest time yet, crossing the finish line in nine minutes and 0.09 seconds. He came sprinting out of the final water pit jump and held on for sixth place to grab All-American honors and a spot on the podium.
"It was a great race for Pierre," said Coach Ben Gall.
The Lancers have two more runners to compete at the national championship meet in Simon Bedard (1500-meter) and Emeline Delanis (5K). Both runners race on Saturday, with Bedard going first at 3:45 p.m. Eastern time.
