Somogyi Named WAC Athlete of the Week

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Coming off of a strong performance at the Oxy Invitational on Saturday, California Baptist University's Anett Somogyi added to her ever-growing list of accolades as she was named the Western Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
Somogyi put together a stellar performance in the 5,000 meter on Saturday which she ran in 16 minutes, 26.78 seconds. She becomes the first Lancer in program history to earn the award in track.
Her time is the fastest 5,000 meter time of the season in all of the NCAA to date, in addition to breaking her previous personal best by more than 40 seconds.
CBU's next competition is at the UC Riverside Invitational on March 23-24.
