RIVERSIDE – California Baptist University's men's and women's swim and dive teams were honored by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Wednesday.
Both squads earned CSCAA Scholar All-America Team recognition for the Fall 2019 semester. The Lancers' men posted a 3.49 team grade-point average in the fall to tie for a top-11 mark in NCAA Division I, while the women were not far off with a 3.48.
The CSCAA recognizes teams with the Scholar All-America Award for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. A total of 762 teams from 480 institutions received the honor this fall. The teams were selected by the CSCAA's Scholar All-America committee and represent 17,685 student-athletes.
It is the eighth year in a row the Lancers' women have earned the award, and the fifth consecutive season for CBU's men. The men were one of just 12 teams in Division I men's swim and dive to post a GPA of 3.49 or above this fall, and was second among Western Athletic Conference schools, behind Grand Canyon's 3.55.
The Lancers host Senior Day and their final dual of their season against UC San Diego on Saturday, Feb. 1 at noon at the Lancer Aquatics Center. CBU's divers wrap up the regular season with a trip to the Air Force Diving Invitational (Feb. 7-8) before the WAC Championships (Feb. 26-28) and College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America National Invitational Championship (March 12-14).

Congratulations to the Lancer men on posting a 3.49 team GPA, the 11th-best mark in all of NCAA Division I and second in the @WACsports for the Fall 2019 semester. CBU found itself in some pretty good company.#LanceUp⚔ | @CSCAA pic.twitter.com/ORPhdVCZdm
