
MBB Preview: Lancers Add A Pair of Home Games Against St. Katherine and Fresno Pacific

RIVERSIDE --- After the cancelation of UC Davis and Alcorn State for this week's slate, California Baptist University has added a pair of home games against St. Katherine (CA) on Thursday, Dec. 10, at 4:30 p.m. and Fresno Pacific on Saturday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m.
Both UC Davis and Alcorn State put a pause on men's basketball activities earlier in the week due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Lancers hosted their first two home games last week, as they split the two-game series against SE Louisiana. The Firebirds enter Thursday's contest at 1-1 but have six games under their belt with exhibition games against Southern Utah University (L, 47-95), UC Santa Barbara (L, 55-92), San Diego State (L, 41-83), and Pepperdine (L, 45-94).
The Firebirds' last opponent was a familiar foe to the Lancers, as they played WAC newcomer Dixie State on Dec. 5. Dixie State won the matchup, 86-48, as St. Katherine hosted the Trailblazers for their fifth game in seven days.

- This marks a first-time matchup between the Lancers and the Firebirds.
- The University of St. Katherine is a private university located in San Marcos, California, and opened its doors in 2011.

Fresno Pacific's season opener is taking place against San Jose State on Wednesday, Dec. 9. The Sunbirds currently have three games on the schedule for December, with the season opener against San Jose State, the matchup between the Lancers, and a game against Fresno State on Dec. 19.
Notable Notes:
- This will be just the second game for the Sunbirds of the 2020-21 season.
- Last season, Fresno Pacific went 11-17 on the season and 9-13 in conference play.
- The history between the Lancers and the Sunbirds dates back to the 1995-96 season.
