Gak Named TicketSmarter WAC Player of the Week

RIVERSIDE --- After leading the Lancers to a 2-0 week against non-conference opponents, California Baptist University's Gorjok Gak was named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 18 through Jan. 24.
Gak, a grad transfer from Sydney, Australia, was unstoppable against Long Beach State on Saturday, Jan. 23. He led all scorers with a career-high 26 points to go along with a team-high 16 rebounds, with four assists and a pair of blocks. In the game against San Diego Christian, he scored nine points with three rebounds and two blocks in just 18 minutes of play.

According to National Statistics, Gak's performance against the Beach was ranked as the top performer in NCAA Division I Men's Basketball for games on Jan. 23.

On the week, he averaged 17.5 points per game, 9.5 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 2.0 blocks per game. He also shot 73.7 percent from the field on the week, going 14-for-19.
Gak ranks second in the WAC in rebounds per game (10.6) and blocks per game (1.6) while ranking third in the conference in field goal percentage (62.2).
