RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University put together another strong performance in the CBU Events Center Tuesday night, as the Lancers took down the Jackson State Tigers, 77-64.
The Lancers have now produced five players in double figures for the third straight game, as the all-out team effort was in full force in front of the Lancer faithful. The win also marked head coach Rick Croy's 185th in his ninth season at the program's helm and improved his impressive home record to 116-23.
"We're getting better," said Croy. "We're learning what it's going to take, to take care of home floor. That's what we got to do, we have to take care of our home floor and you do that by defending consistently."
After being named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, Taran Armstrong recorded his first double-double of his young career with 15 points and 12 assists. He nearly pulled off the triple-double as he added eight rebounds to his 38 minutes of play.
"We got a great chemistry because we got no selfish guys," said Taran Armstrong. "The ball just happens to find whoever's open. Typically, the ball is in my hands. I love to play unselfishly. I'm not going to shoot it every time. I like my teammates to feel good and put them into positions where they can succeed."

Tre Armstrong finished his night with 14 points, 10 of those points coming in the second half. Chance Hunter added 12 points, while Dan Akin recorded his second straight double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

CBU was able to run away with it in the second half, using a 12-0 run from the 9:31 mark to the 4:48 mark. The lead ballooned to 21 points, 68-47, after Nottage knocked down his third three of the game.
The momentum started for the Lancers after Taran Armstrong pushed the ball up the court to find his brother Tre Armstrong for the fast-break three.
