RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University's men's basketball team has added a non-conference game against Vanguard University on Saturday, Feb. 27, at 1 p.m.

Vanguard enters Saturday's game at 8-3 and 4-2 in the Golden State Athletic Conference. As an NAIA member, the Lions are no strangers to the Lancers as both programs competed in the GSAC until the Lancers made the move to NCAA Division II.
In the all-time series, the Lancers hold an 18-6 advantage over the Lions, as the last appearance came on Feb. 12, 2011, when CBU beat Vanguard, 82-70. The history between the two schools dates back to the 1999-2000 season.
Vanguard is currently on a two-game winning streak after beating Hope International on Feb. 18 and Feb. 20.

- It will be a family affair on Saturday, as assistant coach Lyle McIntosh is the father to CBU Assistant Coach Geoff McIntosh.
- Vanguard ranks No. 4 in NAIA Division I in total rebound defense, averaging 29.1 defensive rebounds per game.
- The Lions also rank 10th in total rebound margin, recording 10 more rebounds per game over their opponents.
- Garrett White and Aziz Seck are the team's leaders on the offensive end, scoring 14.2 and 12.5 points per game, respectively.
- White, a 6-5 junior from Post Falls, Idaho, is the team's leading rebounder with 6.7 rebounds per game.
- The Lions are currently shooting 48 percent from the field, 36 percent from the 3-point line, and 73 percent from the charity stripe.
- They are stingy on defense when it comes to the 3-point line, holding teams to 31 percent from beyond the arc – good enough for 27th best in the NAIA.
- Rhett Soliday is the Lions' head coach as he enters his 11th season at the helm. He holds a career record of 168-142 since joining the university in 2010.
