RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University Head Coach Rick Croy announced the Lancers' 2021-22 schedule on Monday.
The Lancers will welcome 18 of their 30 regular-season games being played in the state-of-the-art CBU Events Center. Under Croy, CBU boasts a 113-23 record at home, and this will be the second time in three seasons the Lancers will host 18 or more home games.
Prior to COVID-19, the Lancers continued to experience growth within their home attendance as they finished fourth out of 14 teams among the Southern California NCAA Division I programs. CBU averaged 3,181 fans per contest in 2019-20, marking the third-straight season of growth for the Lancers, a staggering 291 percent increase in fans per game since the 2016-17 season.
"We are looking forward to having Lancer Nation back in the CBU Events Center for another special season," Croy said. "I'm thrilled for our guys to again experience what this fan base brings to the table when we play at home. There's no better environment to play in front of, and we have a tremendous community that has our back. We have several quality non-conference opponents and a packed WAC schedule with four new teams in the conference who are extremely well-coached."
The 2021-22 season seats are starting at $99 and guarantee your seating for all men's and women's home games. It also comes with exclusive benefits and will save you money off individual game pricing. The Lancers will play 12 non-conference games before tipping off their fourth season in the Western Athletic Conference.
The schedule opens up with five straight home games in the CBU Events Center. The home opener is set for Nov. 9 against San Francisco State, which is no stranger to Coach Croy, as he spent four years playing for the Gators and is mentioned 13 times in their career record book.
The Lancers will then host Mississippi Valley State (Nov. 13) and Jackson State (Nov. 16) before they participate in the 2021 Abe Lemons Classic as part of a four-team pod, including nationally ranked Texas, along with San Jose State and Northern Colorado. CBU will host two first-time opponents in San Jose State (Nov. 18) and Northern Colorado (Nov. 21) and then travel to Texas (Nov. 24) for the second matchup against the Longhorns in the program's history.
CBU will head back home with three straight home games against San Diego Christian (Nov. 27), Cal Poly (Dec. 2) and North Dakota (Dec. 7).
The final two non-conference road games will take place between UC Riverside (Dec. 12) in the Crosstown Showdown and the University of Arizona (Dec. 18) after last season's game was canceled due to COVID-19.

Before opening conference play, the Lancers will host SE Missouri State (Dec. 21) to close out the year.
The New Year will feature 18 WAC games, with an even split between home and away contests. The WAC recently introduced Abilene Christian University, Lamar University, Sam Houston State University and Stephen F. Austin University as four new conference members.
CBU opens conference play at home against Seattle U on New Year's Day as the lone game of that week. The Lancers will travel to Chicago State on Jan. 8 for the final time as the Cougars are set to leave the WAC in June 2022.
After the back-to-back Saturday games, the Lancers will resume the normal two-team pod with home games against Dixie State (Jan. 13) and Utah Valley (Jan. 15).
The Lancers will then travel to Texas for the first time facing Tarleton State (Jan. 20) and Abilene Christian (Jan. 22) on the road. The month of January ends with home games against Sam Houston State (Jan. 27) and Stephen F. Austin (Jan. 29).
A road trip awaits the Lancers to start February, facing NM State (Feb. 3) and Grand Canyon (Feb. 5), the two teams from the WAC Tournament Championship game last season.
CBU tips off a three-game homestand with WAC newcomer Lamar University on Feb. 10, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on Feb. 12, and the final meeting against Grand Canyon on Feb. 17.
After the three home games, the Lancers will travel to Seattle U (Feb. 19), Dixie State (Feb. 24), and Utah Valley (Feb. 26).
The Lancers will close out the season with a home game against Chicago State on March 3 and a road contest against Lamar University on March 5.
