The 19th-ranked Lancers finished a goal off their first top-10 win of the season in a 13-12 loss to seventh-ranked Pacific before they knocked off Redlands, 16-10, to end the weekend. CBU's record moves to 3-8 this season while the Tigers move to 3-3 and the Bulldogs drop to 1-8.
CBU will have next week off to prepare for its Western Water Polo Association debut this season. It comes in a road game against conference and water polo newcomer Biola on Thursday, Sept. 30, at 1 p.m. The Lancers will also face Concordia that day at 7 p.m. and then play four games in the Gary Troyer Tournament (Oct. 1-2).

PJ McDonough and Zach Lowery both had big days Saturday. McDonough totaled seven goals with hat tricks in both games, while Lowery had 10 points, with five goals and five assists, and four steals. Tristan Felberg also had 21 saves over a game and a half in the cage.
The Lancers trailed Pacific 7-4 at halftime and came back to keep things interesting right until the final buzzer. The Tigers still led by three, 13-10, with 4:30 left in regulation, but CBU shut them out the rest of the way and ended the game on a 2-0 run after goals from Riley Bumgardner and McDonough with 3:14 and 26 seconds to play, respectively.
