
CBU Drops Both Games on Opening Day on the East Coast

PRINCETON, NJ--- The No. 14 California Baptist men's water polo team ventured to the East Coast to participate in the Princeton Tournament, opening the first day of competition with a pair of losses to two top-10 ranked programs. The Lancers started their day in New Jersey against No. 1 UCLA and fell 21-5 before turning around to take on No. 9 Princeton, battling to an 18-10 loss.
The reigning NCAA National Champions from Westwood came out strong on the East Coast, hitting the net six times through the first period for a sizable lead that was never relinquished. The Lancers hung tough and were able to score five goals on the Bruins to open their day at the Princeton Tournament.
CBU then turned its attention to the tournament hosts in the afternoon tilt, battling the No. 9 nationally ranked squad to a tough 18-10 loss. The star of the game was Luca Imbriolo, who netted five goals against Princeton to contribute to the Lancer attack.
The Lancers will return to the Princeton pool tomorrow as they open the final day of competition against No. 16 Harvard at 5 a.m. PST and then take on No. 19 George Washington at 9:30 a.m. PST.
