Le Pallec and Karinauskaite Sweep WAC Cross Country Runner of the Week Awards

It's the Lancers' third WAC Runner of the Week award sweep over the last two seasons. CBU has earned a total of 10 weekly WAC awards (seven women, three men) since it joined the conference four seasons ago in 2018.

Karinauskaite won the individual championship in a record time for the Lancers of 20 minutes and 19 seconds in the 6,000-meter. She topped the 172-runner field that included runners from Arizona, USC, Arizona State, Long Beach State, Pepperdine and many more. It gives Karinauskaite three top-25 times in CBU's 6K history.

Le Pallec led CBU's men with a runner-up finish overall in the 188-runner field. He ran the 8K in 23:40.7 for the second-best time in program history. It was nearly three seconds better than his previous personal record (23:43.3), which was the previous No. 2 mark for the Lancers all-time.
CBU wins the men's team title with 50 points at the UC Riverside Invite, as six runners place in the top 20:

Saturday was a good preview of what's to come for the Lancers, as they will host the 2021 Western Athletic Conference Championships at the UCR Ag Ops Course. CBU will get another run at through the location at the Highlander Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 16, which is the regular-season finale before the WAC Meet on Saturday, Oct. 30.
CBU will have about two weeks off before its next meet. The Lancers are set to travel to Indiana to run in Notre Dame's prestigious Joe Piane Invite, which stands to be their biggest test of the season to date, on Friday, Oct. 1.
