
Lancers Take On Idaho State to Close Our San Diego Trip

SAN DIEGO – California Baptist University women's basketball closed out The Dana on Mission Bay Thanksgiving Classic against the reigning Big Sky champions, Idaho State, on Saturday afternoon. The Bengals used a big first half to hang on to this one, edging the Lancers by a score of 61-55. CBU drops to 2-4 on the season, while ISU improves to 3-4.
The Lancers went into halftime down by 19 points and trailed 46-25 with 1:33 left in the third quarter. After that, CBU surged back into the game, going on a 25-4 run over the course of the next seven game minutes.
True freshman Grace Schmidt tallied a team-high 16 points to go with five rebounds. Chloe Webb was a major second-half spark for the Lancers, scoring 12 of her 14 points in the fourth quarter to go with six boards and five steals.
The Lancers will stay on the road for their next game, heading to Los Angeles to take on the Trojans of the University of Southern California at the Galen Center. The game is set to tip at 7 p.m. and will be streamed via the Pac-12 Network.
