SEATTLE – California Baptist University baseball closed out its five-game road trip at the University of Washington on Tuesday, with the Huskies taking the win, 11-3.
Washington has now won eight-straight games, including three-game sweeps of USC and UCLA, to improve to 26-24 on the year. CBU moves to 31-18 on the season heading back into Western Athletic Conference play.
Ulises Caballero continued his strong road trip with two hits and two runs scored on the night at Husky Ballpark.
Harrison Spohn also had two hits and two runs batted in for CBU.
The Lancers got on the board first after singles from Caballero and Spohn in the third inning. Caballero led off the inning with a single and moved to third after consecutive groundouts. Spohn drove Caballero in with a two-out single into right.
CBU tacked on two more runs in the eighth. A lead-off walk to
Mitchel Simon and Caballero's second single got the inning going and a pinch-hit walk to
Connor Clift loaded the bases with one out. Spohn drove in a run with another RBI single and
Chad Castillo plated another with a sacrifice fly.
Defensively, the Lancers got great plays from
David Martin at catcher and Simon at third base.

CBU will play six of its final seven games at home, starting with a Western Athletic Conference series against Dixie State. The series opener will be play Thursday, May 19, at 6 p.m., with game two Friday, May 20 at 5 p.m. and the finale set for a noon start on Saturday, May 21.
