SEATTLE--- The California Baptist University women's volleyball team got back on the right track with a road sweep of Seattle U. The sweep was the third of the season for the Lancers and moved their conference record to 4-5 and 11-9 overall.
The Redhawks meanwhile fall to 6-14 on the season and 1-8 in the Western Athletic Conference. The win for the Lancers also evened up their road conference record at 3-3 after defeating Utah Tech and Southern Utah earlier in the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the opening set, the Lancers and Redhawks traded points through the majority of the period, with neither team leading by more than three into the latter portion. CBU would take control to force two timeouts by Seattle and eventually claim the set 25-21 Chandler Gorman rounded out the period with a pair of crucial kills to get CBU the 1-0 lead.
In the second set, the Redhawks claimed the first point but were blissfully unaware that the Lancers would rattle off seven of the next nine points to take complete control of the period. CBU would not relinquish that control and go on to open up a 2-0 lead with the 25-20 victory. Ashlyn Nevrla, in her first action of the season, would wrap the set for the Lancers with a kill from her middle blocker position off a beautifully timed pass by Leah Pease.
The final set was as close as can be, with 14 ties occurring during the duration of the period. The Redhawks made a strong push toward the end of the set, claiming a 22-20 lead before CBU would rattle off three straight points to capture the lead for good. A powerful swing by Michalina Rola and an emphatic block by Laura Walewska and Mia Jerue would seal the match for CBU and earn them the 25-23 victory on the road.

Pease recorded a double-double with 25 assists and 11 digs, while Brianna Young led CBU with 17 digs at libero.
