CBU Ends Road Trip in Nacogdoches

NACOGDOCHES--- The California Baptist University men's basketball team faced the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in a nationally televised contest in Nacogdoches. The game aired on ESPN U in a rare Sunday matchup for the Lancers. It was the first time these teams met in Nacogdoches and the second meeting overall. CBU ended the road trip with an 80-58
The Jacks controlled the first half, only surrendering the lead once, and led 32-24 at the end of the first 20. The CBU bench scored 14 of the 24, led by Tre Armstrong with six points. Juhlawnei Stone gave the Lancers instant energy with six rebounds and a block off the pine. The number totals were nearly identical across the board, but 12 CBU turnovers were the difference in the opening half. Scotty Washington found success in the late second half scoring eight in a row at one point.
Washington and Blondeau Tchoukuiegno both scored in double figures with 13 and 12. Stone grabbed a season-high nine rebounds for CBU off the bench to go along with five points.
Next, the Lancers will return home for senior night on Wednesday, March 1st, at 7 p.m. against the UTRGV Vaqueros.
