MINNEAPOLIS – The NCAA Men's Swim and Dive National Championships came to an end on Saturday, but not before the Lancer duo of Gael Jimenez and Remi Fabiani made one more effort at history.
Fabiani closed out his incredible 2022-23 season in the prelims of the 100 freestyle. Swimming in the fifth of eight heats in the event, Fabiani took third in his heat and 42nd overall with a time of 42.86. Fabiani finishes the season with a grand total of five individual CBU records and part of four relay records to his credit.
Jimenez made his final push on the diving end by participating in the platform event on Saturday morning. He claimed 34th place in the field of 47, posting a score of 304.45. The freshman gained valuable experience and knowledge competing in Minnesota against reigning national champions and Olympians, attributes he will no doubt build on during his sophomore campaign in Riverside in 2023-24.
