Taran Armstrong earns All-WAC Honors with Second Team Nod

ARLINGTON--- Taran Armstrong was named to the All-WAC second team after a superb sophomore season. Armstrong led the Lancers in scoring and assists at 11.4 ppg and five apg. The CBU floor general led the Western Athletic Conference in assists and assists per game for the second-straight season.
Taran has made the All-WAC team in back-to-back seasons after making the All-Freshman team in 2022 and earning WAC Freshman of the Year. Armstrong joins Milan Acquaah as the only two Lancers to earn All-WAC honors in multiple seasons.
Armstrong played in and started all 31 games for CBU and reset his career-high three different times this season. His career-high 25 points came at home against the Southern Utah Thunderbirds in early February. Taran also poured in 24 points in an overtime loss to Minnesota at the SoCal Challenge, scoring all of his points in the second half and overtime.
Armstrong also reached the 300-assist milestone this season in a road game at Sam Houston State. Armstrong achieved this feat in 54 games, making him the sixth fastest active player and one of three sophomores with over 300 assists.
Taran Armstrong and California Baptist University will enter the WAC Men's Basketball Tournament as the #8 seed with an opening-round matchup with Abilene Christian on Tuesday, March 7, at noon in the Michelob Ultra Arena.
