
A Trio of Lancers Earn Spots on the GCC All-Conference Team

RIVERSIDE –The Golden Coast Conference has released its 2023 all-conference awards list, with recipients Maddie Schwegler, Jamie Hutton and Emaly Hutton included among the honorees. This marks the eighth-straight year with Lancer Award winners.
Schwegler earns her first GCC honor after closing out her Lancer career year with a phenomenal end-to-end stat line. She matched her single-season career high with 39 goals while posting a career-best 19 steals on the defensive end of the pool. Her .481 shooting percentage was the best on the team of anyone with double-digit goals this year, as she also did the year prior.

Jamie Hutton earns her third conference nod, named as an Honorable Mention All-GCC recipient this year. She earned Freshman All-GCC honors in 2019 and Second Team All-GCC recognition in 2021. Jamie led the Lancers in most offensive categories this season, setting team highs in goals scored (59), assists (24), and points (83), and is second in drawn exclusions (14) and steals (24).

Jamie is joined on the list by her younger sister Emaly who became the fifth Lancer to earn GCC All-Freshman Team honors. She finished the regular season with the tenth-most goals in the league (49), the second-most by a freshman this season. She posted 12 multi-goal games in her debut campaign, including a career-high five against La Verne on February 11. She closed the regular season with the second-most goals and total points (67) for CBU.

The Lancers are just a few days away from opening the GCC playoffs in San Diego, where the Lancers will face top-seeded Fresno State in the opening round on Friday, April 28, at 4:00 p.m. The Lancers played the Bulldogs tough in their only meeting during the regular season, battling them to an 11-6 FSU win at the Lancer Aquatics Center on March 3.
